Too often rolemodels in the church stay hidden in the background. Ronald Alan Knott has collected the testimonies of some wonderful rolesmodels, bringing their stories to the forefront. Perhaps unsurprisingly, very few of these accounts reveal a supernatural Damascus road experience. Far from being disappointed by these "ordinary" experiences, I found myself encouraged as I read the real experiences of people "just like me". In fact, I would encourage parents and adults to provide this book for young people on the way to college. Too often young people of faith feel cut off and isolated during the academic journey. Cut off from parents and mentors back home. Cut off from peers with different faith and moral values.....and cut to the bone by academician who dismiss and even ridicule Christian faith. Yet the leaders in this book find joy and blessing in the Ivory Towers. For this reason alone this book should be part of every church's lending library.
