| Gibson, Margaret Dunlop With her twin sister Agnes, Margaret Dunlop Gibson traveled the world in search of the Bible and the church's history. They studied several languages to prepare for the task, then succeeded in discovering an unknown copy of the Four Gospels in Syriac. They also cataloged the manuscript collection at St. Catherine's monastery, providing an invaluable resource for future scholars. The universities of St. Andrews and Dublin awarded them honorary doctorates.
